Why write a Will?

Writing your Will is important, no matter your age or your health. It’s estimated around 60% of Aussies don’t have a Will, with many believing they aren’t wealthy enough or old enough to need one. But life is unpredictable, and having a Will helps protect your loved ones from unnecessary stress while ensuring your wishes are honoured.

A Will also gives you the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on the causes you care about. After providing for your loved ones, you might choose to leave a gift in your will to Australian Prostate Cancer.. In doing so, you’ll contribute to a healthier future for your family and help reduce the fear and heartbreak of illness for generations to come.

A Legacy of Love: Eve’s Gift in Will

“it’s something very special and especially that it’s something that’s going to happen after I’m gone…. it could help people for many years to come” Eve.

Four ways you can leave a Gift in your Will

Whether you choose a specific percentage or your estate, a fixed amount or even assets like real estate, your contribution will make a difference. We offer you flexible options to accommodate your wishes and ensure your gift has the most significant impact. To grab a copy of our FREE guide, fill out the form above.

1. Residual

Residual

A residual bequest gifts whatever remains in your estate after your debts and specific gifts to family or loved ones are distributed. This means your contribution to THRF Group automatically adjusts to the value of your estate, maximising your impact.

2. Percentage

Percentage

You can leave a nominated percentage (1–100%) of your entire estate.

3. A Set Amount

A Set $ Amount

This is a specific cash amount you wish to give after loved ones are taken care of.

4. Assets

Assets

This is a gift of items you own such as property, stocks, shares etc.

We recommend you discuss the type of gift you would like to leave with your solicitor.

Basil Hetzel Society – Celebrating your legacy, today.

Once you have informed us of a gift left in your Will, you will be invited to join our Basil Hetzel Society. Named after the honourable Dr. Basil Hetzel, the first Professor of Medicine at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in South Australia and one of Australia’s most distinguished medical scientists, the Society celebrates those who choose to leave a gift to The Hospital Research Foundation Group.

Membership in the Basil Hetzel Society goes beyond simply acknowledging your generosity. It offers exclusive opportunities to connect with other like-minded individuals, gain insights directly from researchers, and witness firsthand the transformative power of your contribution. By joining the Society, you become part of a community dedicated to building a healthier future for generations to come.

Gift in Will

I thought of The Hospital Research Foundation Group, partly because I knew the need for funding, working in clinical trials. I love that you can specify exactly where you want the money to go and 100% of your donation will end up there.
