A day on the green for prostate cancer awareness

A massive thank you to the team at Fore Group Canberra, who raised a whopping $60,000 for Australian Prostate Cancer (APC) last November.

Each year Fore Group holds a barefoot bowls tournament with the aim to raise funds for a charitable partner of their choice.

Fore Group’s Jaime Sinclair, who organised the fundraiser, said there was a special meaning why APC was chosen this year.

“We proudly supported Australian Prostate Cancer in honour of our team member Sam’s father, David Wicks, who sadly passed away from prostate cancer in September,” she said.

“Our hope is that our contribution will help fund vital research and, one day, lead to a cure.”

The sun was shining down on the green at the RUC Bowls Club as 41 teams came together in support of prostate cancer research.

Each team donated $1000 to take part, with Fore Group contributing an extra $19,000.

“It was a fantastic day, made possible by the generous support of our amazing trades, clients, and community who joined us in raising such an extraordinary amount for this important cause,” Jamie said.

The funds raised at Fore Group’s bowls tournament will help support critical prostate cancer research projects.

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia, and the most common among Australian men.

Around 70 Australian men are diagnosed each day with prostate cancer, with one in six diagnosed in their lifetime.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated and took part in the fundraiser, and to the RUC Bowls Club in Turner for hosting this incredible event.
